OUR DOMAIN NAME REGISTRATION SERVICES

A domain name is basically the address used for your web site and email e.g. www.davidnewton.co.uk. Domain names need to be registered when we develop a web site and it’s up to the individual to decide how many names they require. Normally they are renewable every 2 years and for a small transfer fee we can often take over a domain name registered elsewhere (this makes things easier when we develop you a site if you want us to use a name already registered).

• You do not need to have a web site to register a domain name.

• Our domain name registration service includes the fees to register your name for 2 years and all work to administer the name on your behalf.

• We register names in the client’s name and can use the name to create masked email addresses where email sent to the domain name i.e. anyname@mydomainname.co.uk is forwarded to your existing email accounts or we can create POP3 email accounts at an additional cost.

POP3 email accounts can be arranged for use with a davidnewton registered domain name, please ask for details of annual charges.

WEB SITE HOSTING SERVICES

For web sites to be accessible over the Internet, each site, needs to be hosted (that is to be stored on a computer that allows it to be viewed across the World Wide Web). We prefer to host any web sites we build where possible as this allows easier administration.

• Standard Web Site hosting is suitable for many web sites developed. It may not be suitable if the site is especially large with many graphics or if it includes advanced features. This will mean the site will require a more complex dedicated hosting package (advanced OR special hosting).

• Standard hosting is included free for the first year with your web site development package, thereafter it will need to be renewed annually.
